Rooby, the first organic raw bar producer focused on menstrual nutrition in Europe, announced that it starts searching for investments.
The founders of Rooby, Evgeny Mitko and Panagiotis Maris, successfully brought Rooby Bars to life and achieved first sales, but additional investments are needed to scale fast. Rooby was established in October 2020 and, in less than a year, developed 4 products based on proper nutrition aimed to support the menstrual cycle.
According to Angel Investment Network’s uploaded pitch deck, Rooby plans to spend investments on structural expansion, future production, and extensive marketing. Rooby is already in contact with some Venture Capital Funds to discuss their case. It’s clear that the founders of Rooby are open to multiple financing sources (BA, VC & possibly crowdfunding) and combinations in return for equity in their attempt to expand both the founding team but also the company itself.
Rooby is active on the market only for a couple of months, and they were able to sell more than 2500 bars and get to the shelves of four Dutch stores and three stores in Greece. In the coming month, Rooby aims to scale even more and is already discussing deals with some major grocery store chains in The Netherlands and Greece to be placed on the shelves.
“We believe that Rooby has a chance to make an impact on the nutrition market. We are diving into a problem that many people, especially those who don’t menstruate, are awkward or not open to acknowledging. Menstrual hygiene starts with caring for your body first, and you do that with a balanced diet and proper nutrition. Rooby aims to tackle that problem, and the lack of snacks focused on solving it. It’s 2021 already. We should acknowledge that all people around us who menstruate are facing more everyday challenges than others, so we must try to help them by carrying a pad or tampon in our bags, regardless of our gender, or by handing them over a healthy snack to tackle the mood swings, energy deficiency, bloating or food cravings. Sometimes, my work schedule is challenging. I can’t imagine doing what I do while also losing blood for 4 or even 7 days straight and face all the adverse symptoms of an irregular cycle; still, many people do it. Let’s try to help them any way we can. Rooby Bars is our way.”
