Seed Cycling

Seed cycling in brief

Seed Cycling is a concept of eating specific seeds in certain phases of the menstrual cycle.

Seeds contain a lot of healthy nutrition that woman’s organism needs.

Typically, the menstrual cycle is divided into two phases: Phase 1 (from day 1 until day 14) and Phase 2 (from day 15 until day 28). In each phase, the body requires specific nutrients for a smooth and symptom-free cycle.

Flax and pumpkin seeds are beneficial in Phase 1 of the cycle – they contain many healthy fats, lignans, fibre, antioxidants, magnesium and zinc. Those nutrients can help women to reduce breast pain, reduce polycystic ovarian syndrome, reduces menstrual migraines,  reduces premenstrual syndrome and relieves premenstrual mood changes.

On the other hand, sesame and sunflower seeds are a great source of lignans, vitamin B1, calcium, selenium, vitamin E, vitamin B6, and flavonoids, which are great for Phase 2. Those nutrients can help to regulate the menstrual cycle, relieves premenstrual mood changes, reduces premenstrual water retention and reduce period cramping.

Rooby Bars contain all the necessary seeds and additional superfoods to make it even more healthy!

Seed cycling in Details

How your body works?

Seed cycling is a concept of eating different seeds daily depending on the menstrual cycle phase. This procedure is believed by many to naturally balance hormones, alleviate menstrual symptoms and regulate the cycle.

Your menstrual cycle typically consists of two phases:

  • Phase 1, the follicular phase (first 14 days of the cycle).
  • Phase 2, the luteal phase (the rest 14 days of the cycle).

During the first phase of your cycle, estrogen levels are increasing until ovulation. Before ovulation happens, other hormone levels such as the FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone) and the LH (Luteinizing hormone) increase. When ovulation occurs, estrogen levels suddenly fall until they gradually increase again together with the hormone called progesterone. Finally, at the end of the cycle, hormonal levels drop again, and the process repeats (except of course if you are pregnant ;)).

This process is often disrupted by stress, pollution, unhealthy diet, lack of activity or lack of sleep. This hormone disbalance results in adverse effects in both physical and mental states. Some women are lucky enough – their organism can properly regulate their hormones and maintain balance; therefore, they face zero or minimal symptoms. However, many women face hormonal disbalance and experience symptoms such as PMS, irregular menstrual cycle, headache, mood swings, breakout, painful cramps and others. Moreover, hormone imbalance can be the reason for a number of health concerns, including irregular periods, acne, PCOS, thyroid disorders, and chronic fatigue.

A “regular cycle” is a steady 28-day cycle with zero or minimal symptoms. That is usually the case when there is no hormonal imbalance. Wouldn’t that be perfect?!

How seed cycling can help?

In some cases women try to alleviate the symptoms of their menstrual cycles, fight irregular periods, acne, PCOS, thyroid disorders, and chronic fatigue with over the counter medication or professional help. In many cases women who don’t have severe PMS symptoms, think that some PMS symptoms are normal and just live with them. It is essential to say that no natural methods should indeed replace a doctor’s advice. However, that does not necessarily mean that you shouldn’t try to aid your health overall through healthy and focused nutrition. The concept here is straightforward. Consumption of specific amounts of different seeds in each phase of your cycle can naturally help balance your hormones. Gradually, seed cycling may help you get rid of most of your menstrual problems and normalise your cycle. Seed cycling is a very natural and gentle procedure, and that’s why it takes some time for the effects to kick in. Most women say it takes about 3 months before they see the results.

What a second? Messing with the hormones sounds scary!

Seed Cycling is not a medication but a natural way of balancing yourself and bring harmony to your organism. That means that since it’s just food, there should be no adverse side effects but it also means that there are no quick results. As long as you are not allergic or face problems when consuming specific types of foods, not only you are gonna be ok…but it’s just eating. Actually, eating healthier.

Seeds are packed with beneficial nutrients and are a great addition to your diet. It doesn’t harm you; it only makes things better for your health. These things don’t mess with your hormones; they may naturally help your organism balance them. For example, flax seeds are a great source of healthy fats, lignans, fibre, antioxidants and other valuable vitamins and minerals. Flax seeds can help detoxify the body from excess hormones, reduce polycystic ovarian syndrome, reduce menstrual migraines, and much more. Pumpkin seeds are an excellent source of magnesium, zinc, phytoestrogens and healthy fats. They can help reduce PMS symptoms, boost mood, reduce period pains and more. But seeds do much more than benefit women’s health; they are incredibly healthy for all humans. To learn more about the seeds that are used in seed cycling, press each of them below.

We didn’t stop there and added fruits and superfoods in Rooby Bars. For example, baobab and maca powders can give you this extra healthy daily boost you need to function better.

And does seed cycling really work? Where is the scientific proof about it?

Indeed, there is no proven scientific evidence that would definitely indicate that seed cycling works; one reason for that is a lack of such nutritional experiments. Many pharmaceutical companies or education institutes are not particularly interested in natural concepts like that. However, there is quite a lot of research that shows how beneficial for women’s health the individual seeds used in seed cycling are. Click on the seed seeds photos below to see how healthy they are and to check scientific references and bibliography (Every small red number, when you click the seed photos, is an academic citation to where we nerds got our information from).

Moreover, Rooby Bars are some of the healthier (if not the healthiest) raw snacks you can find on the market currently. They can help you become healthier by replacing other unhealthy traditional snacks with a snack made from organic, natural ingredients and without E-preservatives or added sugars. They also come packed with much fewer calories than most nutrition bars on the market since they range from approximately 199 to 213 kcals depending on the flavour you choose.

So How Do I Seed Cycle?

Rooby Bars make it simple.

By now, you probably understand that there are two different phases in your period. This is very important for seed cycling. That is because seed cycling can provide you with the right nutrients you need for each phase of your period and, eventually, help balance your hormones. There is a simple process you need to follow:

In Phase 1 (days 1 – 14 of your cycle), you need to eat specific amounts of raw flax and pumpkin seeds daily.

In Phase 2 (days 15-28 of your cycle), you need to eat specific amounts of raw sesame and sunflower seeds daily.

Pretty simple concept, right?! The hard part is actually to implement it in your diet. You can buy seeds, weigh them to exact amounts and eat them. Be careful not to cook them or process them in other ways, though, because this could make the seed cycle inefficient. This gets even harder if you want to enrich your diet more and make it even healthier by adding superfoods, dried fruits and other healthy nutrients to your healthy diet. Rooby Bars are a way to get all the nutrients you need for seed cycling and extra nutrients from such superfoods as maca and baobab powders. And this is what makes Rooby bar a unique raw bar that is different from all the others in the market. When you implement Rooby bars in your daily diet, you can easily avoid that daily hassle and get even more benefits. This helps fortify the seed cycling procedure and help you absorb more healthy nutrients, all packed in 4 different exceptional tastes — two for each phase.

How do I seed cycle using Rooby Bars?

Rooby Bars make it very easy. You simply just choose the taste per phase you like and eat one bar daily.

On the package, it says Phase 1 or Phase 2. Regarding which phase you currently are in, you eat the applicable raw bar.

And that’s it. Simple and Easy! No need to weight seeds; bluntly taste the seeds or carry packs of them around. Moreover, Rooby Bars also come full of extra benefits due to their other ingredients. And they are easy to carry and consume any time of the day.

There is only one problem, however. If your significant other or your kids taste Rooby Bars, they will definitely start eating them. So please keep them in separate rooms or buy some extra. 😁

Frequently Asked Questions

Rooby Bars make it simple.

Rooby bars are as safe as healthy food can be and much healthier than most other products on the market. In particular, Rooby bars are lovingly and carefully made with only organic, natural and healthy ingredients. Seed cycling overall is considered to be natural, healthy and most importantly a gentle concept of eating seeds. It is just as safe as consuming organic pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds daily. However, you should always be careful of what you consume due to possible allergies (seeds or fruits) or other health concerns. We suggest that you always consult your doctor if you are facing a severe health issue. Seed cycling is a gentle nutritional solution that can help with your cycle, but in no case can replace medication or your doctor’s advice.

At the end of the day, Rooby Bars are just very healthy, daily snacks with extra benefits for women if they consume them daily.

Ideally, you need to start Phase 1 on the first day of the cycle and continue until ovulation. Then switch to Phase 2 and proceed until the end of the cycle.
On practise, this could be hard to implement if you can’t find when the ovulation day is. If you don’t want to do ovulation tests there are some workarounds:

Always end Phase 1 on day 14 and start Phase 2 on day 15 and continue until day 28. Then you repeat the process for the next 28 days again. You can do this even if your cycle is different than 28 days.

Another solution would be this one:

Suppose your periods are very irregular, or you find it more comfortable. In that case, you can always try and use the Moon Cycle (See this part: 2. What if I am not getting periods at all?). By using this method, you should eventually synchronise your cycle.

In any case, the most important thing is not to stress about it. No matter if you are following your cycle or the moon cycle, just relax. In the end of the day, you can eat Rooby Bars how you like them and without following the concept. The most important factor is to relieve yourself from extra stress. It’s good to be precise, and it may help you regulate your period faster and more efficient. However, seed cycling is a very gentle procedure, and you can’t really go wrong. Try to be precise but don’t stress yourself over it. Things will always work out eventually. You could also track your cycle using a calendar or cycle tracking app – you will learn a lot about your menstrual cycle and yourself. Unfortunately, we can’t advise any specific app due to advertising issues.

You can solve this by following the Moon Cycle. Phase 1 starts with the New Moon and ends with the Full Moon, where Phase 2 begins. Moon cycle is always 28 days, and therefore it can help indicate the point you are. Many women’s menstrual cycles tend to synchronise with the moon cycle naturally and without them knowing that. Moreover, if you can’t really observe the sky or you don’t want to, there are a lot of apps available that help tracks the moon cycle or your periods. Sadly we can’t indicate a specific app for reasons of advertising.

Like most nutritional and natural solutions, it is believed by many that seed cycling results can differ in terms of speed for different people. Most women find out that it takes them around 3-6 months to regulate their periods and see the results. Others can feel the difference from the first cycle or even the first week. If you are facing more severe problems with your periods such as PCOS, endometriosis, complete loss of periods, it will probably take more than the average, and you have to be patient. Following an overall healthy lifestyle and avoiding obesity levels can help make the beneficial results appear in a more prompt matter.

We suggest that before you do anything that changes your diet while pregnant or breastfeeding you first consult your doctor.

Seed cycling is a relatively gentle procedure based on healthy nutrition. Meaning that for most problems such as medical conditions of PCOS, endometriosis, more than normal blood loss, etc., most of the time, not only can work, but it is also beneficial. However, if you are facing a severe medical condition, always consult your doctor before changing anything in your diet.

Rooby Bars and seed cycling could benefit you if you are on the pill. Moreover, Rooby Bars may help you with transitioning your cycle back to normality after long term use of birth controls such as the pill that messed with your periods. Even though Rooby bars are not a health supplement and they are just a daily, healthy snack, in cases of severe health issues, we always recommend consulting your doctor.

Actually, a lot of women have reported that seed cycling helped them in this challenging period of life and also soothed a lot of nasty symptoms. Rooby Bars may help even more due to the extra beneficial ingredients and superfoods that may provide you with more healthy nutrients such as zinc, lignans and vitamins and much much more. Even though Rooby bars are not a health supplement and they are just a daily, healthy snack, in cases of severe health issues, we always recommend consulting your doctor.
